Tamás Beke-Somfai is a group leader in the Institute of Materials and Environmental Chemistry at the Research Centre for Natural Sciences (RCNS), Budapest. He obtained his M. Sc. (2001) in chemistry and his Ph.D. in structural chemistry (2007) at Eötvös University, Budapest. He worked as a post-doctoral fellow, and later as aguest researcher at Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden (2008-2015). He is leading the Biomolecular Self-Assembly group under the ’Momentum’ excellence programme of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (HAS). His research field involves theoretical and experimental investigation of natural and non-natural peptide assemblies, enzyme catalysis, polarized light spectroscopy, and membrane-biomolecule interactions.
