Huang, Yiyao (yiyaohuang141@gmail.com) studied Clinical Laboratory Medicine at Southern Medical University, China, and obtained her master's and bachelor's degree in Clinical Medicine. Yiyao joined JHU and worked in Kenneth W. Witwer's lab since October 2017 as a visiting scholar. She is now working on characterizing brain-derived extracellular vesicles (bdEVs) in neurological diseases, including Alzheimer's disease (AD) and HIV-associated neurocognitive disorders (HAND). The main purpose of her projects is to determine how miRNAs, tRNAs, circular RNAs, and proteins in bdEVs regulate neurodegenerative disease and serve as potential biomarkers.
